Privacy Policy

What happens on your phone stays on your phone.

Daybreak has no account, no server, no advertising, and no analytics. The app and its extensions process protection settings on your device.

Information Daybreak stores

Daybreak stores the settings needed to provide the features you choose. This can include your written reason, custom website domains, block dates, schedules, curfew settings, settings-lock and deletion-lock choices, protected-time totals, and entries you create while using urge tools.

This information is stored on the device in an App Group container that only Daybreak and its three bundled Screen Time extensions can read. If you back up your phone, this local data may be included in that backup according to your Apple backup settings.

Apps, categories, and websites you select

Apple's Screen Time framework represents chosen apps, categories, and websites as opaque tokens. Daybreak stores those tokens so its extensions can apply your settings. Daybreak cannot use those tokens to inspect the apps installed on your device or read content inside another app.

Custom domains you type into Daybreak are stored locally alongside your other protection settings.

Information Daybreak does not collect

Daybreak does not receive or transmit your browsing history, the apps you open, the apps or categories you select, your block schedule, your written reason, your urge-tool entries, or how often you use Daybreak. There is no Daybreak server, account system, analytics service, advertising SDK, or third-party data broker.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchase restoration are handled by Apple through StoreKit. Daybreak receives verified product, transaction, and expiration information from Apple so it can determine whether paid features are available. Daybreak does not receive your payment-card details. Apple's handling of purchase and Apple Account information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Removing your data

Removing Daybreak removes its local app data according to iOS behavior. Apple may retain your purchase history under your Apple Account so subscriptions can be managed or restored.

Changes to this policy

If Daybreak's data practices change, this page will be updated before the change is reflected in the app. The date at the top identifies the current version.
